there’s over 130 million japanese as it stands, the idea that they are just going to plummet to 0 simply because they dont have enough immigration is absurd

its hyperbole.
I think the population is projected to be half that 130m in 50 yrs.
the country will become a tourist attraction. its already halfway there.
Future projections are nearly always wrong, but what’s wrong with a smaller population?
They will dwindle into insignificance and support themselves by whoring their culture to Chinese, Europeans and any economy that has a stronger currency.
Nothing "wrong" with it except I'd personally like to see some of the lessons of Japan taught to the world.
