Litigation (legal) with the enemy is the worst scenario. Why? Because the system forces you to communicate with and about the enemy. This gives power to the enemy, it knows your position. It can gaslight away from it, or even worse project a reality where the roles are inversed. The system could very well protect the abuser and punish the victim. Abusers help each other, always. Power attract abusers.
