Any wonder why people in this community hope for something more similar to the old cash/coin world where this level of surveillance wasn’t possible?
With the #bitcoin / #lightning / #ecash tech stack it’s possible to re-create similar conditions to the old world, but it must be developed with care because it CAN cut both ways.
We all have a right to (metaphorically) walk into a digital shop, pay for legal goods with basically untraceable tender, and be given the *choice* whether to reveal/share our actions to the world. This choice is what has been taken away from us- at first voluntarily through convenience and now slowly ever more through coercion and even outright forced compliance.
The magic of #bitcoin and the associated tech stack is that it’s now possible to leap frog the convenience part (it’s just THAT much better) while building back in the privacy / data control rights in a provable fashion.
And that’s motivating as fuck.
