It's definitely a repair that takes some time and skill. If you're going to attempt it, I recommend getting a piece of drywall and practice a little. It doesn't take that long to pick up the technique, but if you practice on something you can throw away, you'll have better results once you move to the real wall. The main difference between a great drywall guy and an amateur is the amateur takes five times longer and does a lot more sanding. šŸ˜‰

I appreciate the advice! I’m having an internal debate of whether I should take the time to do it myself (properly) versus paying a skilled person who can do it more efficiently as you noted. The long-term answer should be to do it myself I think. āœŒļø
