I’m curious how you gage to harvest.

I usually will wait out the season until the air cools.

Some say as soon as the scapes are ready to harvest the plant is.

But Ill usually harvest the scapes and let them go for another couple months

I cut scapes a month ago. I plant in October and harvest in July.

Same. Although i cut the scapes 2 weeks ago.

I may be in a colder climate. 4b

Some say leaving them in longers improves the potent flavor.

Any thoughts ?

If I leave them in longer, they begin to rot.
