Martyr John, a merchant of Trebizond, was betrayed by a Venetian merchant while trading in Crimea. Refusing to renounce his faith for wealth and status, he endured brutal tortures, being beaten for days. Despite the suffering, his faith remained unshaken. Enraged, the city governor ordered John to be tied to a horse and dragged through the streets until, finally, he was beheaded. Even in death, his body shone with radiant light, and many were healed by his relics.

Holy Martyr John, intercede with Christ our God that our souls may be saved. #SaintJohn #OrthodoxSaints #Martyr #OrthodoxChristianity #Faith
