Map is wrong according to wikipedia. Highest incarceration rate by far would be el salvador which makes sense.
Australia is middle of the pack. A bit high for a developped country but not what this map suggests.
Also there was a severe lack of female transported convict so most of the people who think they're descended from them aren't really. Much more likely to be descended from someone who simply went to regular prison in Australia LOL
