For context, this is an example of how China talking points are positioned and then disseminated within the United States.

Find individuals whose positions mirrors that of the Beltway consensus and also provides for a useful foil to those looking for an external party to blame.

It need not matter if that individual has been completely wrong for two full decades. So long as his message remains intact - even if wrong - he/she will always have access to a mic.

“Trust the experts” a lot of that going around… 👀

For me I’ve no issue with individuals who bring actual institutional knowledge to the public square. Even if I disagree with their positions, if you have relevant experience then it’s a value to the public discourse.

My issue is when said expert has demonstrated very poor judgment and even been obscenely incorrect, over an extended period of time, and yet they receive no form of accountability. They just are allowed to prattle on.

Agree, accountability is certainly absent. There needs to be consequences for such gross actions, whether it be by error or malfeasance.

No one should be protected in a high tower.
