I'm confused 🤣

#Nostros has this login option of using a 12-word mnemonic similar to #Bitcoin #Electrum.

What does this mean for #Nostr?

Is my nostr profile also a Bitcoin wallet I can access on chain?

How do I get my mnemonic for my profile?

Will this fuck up my wallet if I used my wallet's mnemonic to sign in? (I already did 🤣)

Spin up a new BTC wallet and move your sats asap.

They are and should remain separated key pairs.

It does work to use them across nostr and btc because both are compatible elliptic curve key pairs using the secp256k1 curve.

Bech32 key encoding helps disambiguate the purpose with a human readable prefix (“npub” for nostr, “bc1” for btc. However, in mnemonic form there is no prefix, possibly causing confusion in scenarios like yours.

If you move your sats soon you should be fine though.
