i'm not sure how you can be bullish on America when replacing an AC unit costs $33,000
most families are one AC repair away from bankruptcy

Its wild the cost of things.
My grandfather built his own house with his own hands by driving his flatbed Ford pick up truck to the local lumberyard each weekend and paying 50 or 100 bucks for whatever lumber he could afford.
How many people could fix their own AC now days? Let alone build a house.
We are becoming dependent.
I bought some land down in the ozarks and I’m building out the property and what I’ve noticed is that everybody from the well driller to the concrete man are out price gouging feeling what they can charge and get away with.
There’s no integrity among thieves.
I’ll be doing as much of the work myself as I can.
good luck! post pictures and tutorials here for us to follow
I will definitely try to take notes and document some of what I’ve done, but by no means would you ever want to take a tutorial from me. And really furthermore my homestead is just gonna be a very raw simple homestead nothing sophisticated.
I can tell you the first step that I’m gonna do though is to avoid paying $4000 for a boundary survey to set up a cattle fence.
Initially I’ll buy a transit because I have other purposes and needs for that and a transit works better than a laser level for fence surveying.
I’m not sure if I’ll get a theodolite or attempt to use a theodolite app on my iPhone. But for surveying in the Ozarks, most people are now just using GPS devices anyway.
That seems very unrealistic. Get a 2nd opinion
Unless you have a mcmansion
