You may be using your Bitcoin to fund the card, but you still converting it to fiat to load the card and sending it via fiat payment rails.

Well duh. Most businesses don't accept Bitcoin now do they? If I want to pay for my groceries with sats, I have to convert to USD.

Shift was a Visa card, and when you swiped it, Coinbase would automatically liquidate an amount of Bitcoin from your account to cover the USD charge, but you kept your balance in Bitcoin. I spent thousands of dollars with it before they shit canned the whole program.

I buy my groceries with bitrefill vouchers. I wasn't saying to not use the card, merely ensuring you are aware of the system you are supporting with your actions. If you are and you're happy with that, then go for it.

The system is what it is, but I would prefer to store my wealth in Bitcoin and not USD. Having an easy way to have my money flow back and forth between the two is ideal.
