NAS will be upgrading Mastodon next week.

Highlights below:

* Opt-in full-text search of public posts

* Display role badges on the UI (see image)

* Fix edited reply forwarding to other servers

* Improve visual lines in threads (see image)

* Add "legal" as a report category

* Add support for incoming rich-text (see image)

* Remove reposts from "Posts and replies" tab in the web UI

* Change file-size limits (images 10MB->16MB, videos 40MB->99MB)

Features I want in Mastodon that are *not* included in the next release:

* Quote posting (as already supported by third-party clients)

* Server-only posts (no federation)

* Rich-text support (next release supports incoming, but not creating)

* Groups

* Emoji reactions (more than just "favorite")

* E2E DM encryption

local scope only posting is supported here but not in the front end. for poast users, if they use husky they can set the scope to local only and they don't federate. i have done some of these posts for announcements, etc in the past. you dont have the same in mastodon using t/husky?
