AVIF is already available, just not all clients use it. When you access NB from the browser most of the images are returned as AVIF 🐶🐾🫡

Cool! Unfortunately they also come with viruses and exploits, so I needed to implement the whole scanning pipeline to enable them on the backend 🐶🐾😂🔥

SVGs can have executable code in them, and bad actors can use them to exploit people’s devices. We scan all our vulnerable media for this type of things before it is accessible 🐶🐾🫡
