Agreed in principle. Maybe I should try not to care so much. I’m not a developer, so I can only speak as a user. Many of us have invested a good deal of time in establishing a new community, and don’t want to see it beceome fractured and divided.
What we have here is bigger than a protocol or a set of new features. We have this one chance to remake social media interaction (and a lot of other stuff) that probably won’t come again, and I would hate for us to fuck it up.
