Background for non New Zealanders:

NZ banned "assault rifles" after the 2019 Christchurch Mosk shooting (carried out by a mentally unstable Australian immigrant).

Legal law abiding licensed gun owners were subjected compulsory government purchase of their weapons.

Shortly after this gun crime went through the roof.

Now, our wonderful all-wise socialist Government has decided confiscating everyone's legal property didn't go far enough and has set up a gun registry, (which of course doesn't include any illegal weapons).

Now someone has finally done the research and discovered the facts we all knew:

"most violent offenders nationwide use either cutlery or blunt instruments such as helmets, boots and fists."

I guess it's time to set up a national cutlery register, maybe compulsorily amputate peoples hands, ban boots? Probably more effective than a bloody gun register.
