i literally quit facebook because they weren't even showing me the posts of my follows, and i got wise to it when one of my follows posted a link to a study where they discovered that if you get pegged as "far right" they deliberately minimise how much of your follows posts you actually see

that was strike one, and then they started injecting ads, and i was done... circa 2018 iirc
