Nostr is an involuntary Trojan horse against Bitcoin. Hear me out:
1. Bitcoin and Nostr. Becomes a popular term. nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m already used it.
2. Bitcoin and Nostr therefore get conflate.
3. Nostr inevitably descends into Anti-Jewish, Anti-Vax, Radical Christian, Carnivore nonsense. It already has to a large extent. Every time I open the app I see, with rising frequency, anti-Jewish tripe and get assaulted by meat pics.
My old friend Raoul Pal has a point. Bitcoin does have an image problem. From the class of 2017 onwards Bitcoin media, Bitcoin Twitter and, now NOSTR, is not a very welcoming place. And the overall image if Bitcoiners has become more and more right wing. The general vibe is off. Gone are the days we used to joke about how Phil Zimmerman FAXED the code of PGP to circumvent export controls, or Adam's RSA T shirts.
