Waves of adoption appear to precede net losses of users on nostr.

Interesting. So you believe videos on Nostr will slow down adoption and lead to less active users?
I only believe that Nostr has waves of fads that don't appear to male any material positive difference.
One time we got inundates by e-girls wagging their fleshy bits around for sats, and some people got extremely over their skis predicting that it was nostr's "big moment" and surely waves of new adopters were to follow.
I see. Anyway, i just want Nostr to succeed so Iβll support whatever it takes. I personally believe going against each other on Nostr instead of supporting is the worst that I bymyself could do. showing love & support > showing hate & blame.
Stay blessed friend π§‘π«π
If nostr survives to see people understanding the value in censorship resistance, it will have succeeded. Every day the relays stay up increases that probability.
It's a doomsday bunker. A seed vault. A prepper convention. Some of us just prefer to live in the bunker and eat emergency food right now.
Yes and i personally think video is helping us to put real human faces behind fake names and fake pics to connect humans in digital space ππ«

I donβt have a lot if experience on Nostr so i canβt tell but my hope would be that Nostr gets surges of fresh meat, then a chunk of them bails. The hardcore and the real ones stay. The base keeps hardening with every cycle. You need to fuck around to find out but who am i to judge Iβve literally no clue but trying to support regardless ππ«
Similar to bitcoin, but hardcores getting rich is a bat signal for the next wave of adopters. Nostr has no such signal. The currency of social media is followers and clout.
I think after being here for a few waves of adoption , you realize a lasting adoption won't work like that. Not even had a wave of adoption for ages and ages.
Bitchat with the geohash groups built on nostr might be a promising one. Not sure nostr has ever had a nostr client that isn't a microblogging client have people join it. Potentially people using bitchat wouldn't even know it's nostr or what nostr is.
But there is certainly no likelihood of nostr-as-microblogging getting and retaining any waves of adoption in the near future.
Iβm blessed and grateful to be part of the journey regardless where it might take us. Here to support and grow together ππ«
