I’m not betting on it, but I just want people to be happy and free

This is what real virtue looks like.

the algo is a double edge sword, and we still don’t have that, yet

we’re more mute culture here

if people start going off on people, people just mute, some leave, and it’s ok to take a break from social media

we’re learning as we go too, just have a different build approach

Do you think not having what’s hot as a default feed would help save it? I keep saying they at least need better onboarding that tells people there are more custom feeds - so many reject What’s Hot and remove it but so many others don’t even know that they can

I don’t know, but I know the J curve is real and I have to remind myself of that sometimes

not having a team of devs and leadership to yell at is a good start tho

private invite only beta was curated and created a culture that wasn’t ready to deal with the baddies (are_we_the_baddies.jpg) when they showed up.

the place goes kill circle and I want to speak with the manager real fucking fast

but that can’t scale

I feel there’s a lot of confusion from the users and also maybe among the team regarding like.. the differences in goals between bluesky and atproto

Branding as a twitter alternative created a community that doesn’t understand or want to understand decentralization, federation, etc

there’s a big gap in understanding there

Like I’ve said over there before, I don’t really know what the right answers are, I just know when something feels wrong

Moderation can protect but it can and does suppress

The perfect platform doesn’t exist and I’m not sure it ever will
