I went with 1100 Lumens per meter, about 10w/m. Each tread is a 40cm strip. It was way too bright. I got a remote dimmer so I could regulate them, these are at about 30% brightness. It's a Syndeo system, fairly inexpensive and very easy to setup.
As a next step improvement you could go with a movement sensor for automatic switch on off 😀
