I understand there are serious trust tradeoffs using cashu, but goddamn is the onboarding 1000% easier than lightning.

I love ecash, privacy is neat

But the funny part is that it’s reliant on lightning to peg in and out

This is likely where lightning is going. Highly technical operators providing the rails between layer 3 on and off ramps and collecting fees for their trouble.

There will be a demand for the plebs who want to self custody on lightning but the fees, channel management and liquidity asks might push plebs towards ecash and other projects
