Skills are skills and there will be decay if you don't practice them. That includes the basics like reading and reasoning. Anyhow, any of you coders out there falling into this trap?

Definitely a big issue. I've noticed myself falling into this trap a bit. I still read documentation and can debug without AI but a lot of little things I can't be arsed to memorize I will ask Claude for. It's mostly a replacement for Stack Overflow at this point. As AI gets better it'll probably get worse, esp industry wide.
