But - to understand the background - before this, let me share infos about the Hungarian Revolution in 1956. The symbol of this revolution is the Hungarian flag with a hole, because there were brave men, who cut the coat of arm of "socialism" from it.
Hungary was the member of the infamous "Eastern Block". This means that Hungary was quasi occupied by the Soviet army and there was a total control on Hungary by the Sovietunion, especially by Stalin.
In 23th Ocober, 1956 began the Hungarian revolution against this dictatorship . And the people toppled the Stalin's Statue in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.
BTW: Elvis Presley collected donations and money for the Hungarians.
Unfortunately the revolution ended on 4th November, when the Soviet terror drowned the revolution in blood, and a lot of people have been executed.
And during and after the revolution many Hungarian people emigrated to foreign countries, e.g. the USA.
