A spontaneous thought. Wonder if a WoT could help mitigate the problem. Likes and positive comment by accounts that are themselves established would act as a vouch. New accounts with zero trust would need to complete a captcha to post.
I think it would work, but you have to implement on relays. Clients just don't have that much info.
