Oh for real? But why a different name?

I think it's supposed to be like tweetdeck

But also will has said it'll be a nostr browser like firefox is a web browser (good idea)

I haven't used it so idk

like a browser?

for now it's just like Tweetdeck but afaict it all runs locally

it's BUTTER smooth though.

Found this where he talked about the plans nostr:note16uwva03cukfkkg882y3d3slp5hnnfkrt6dydm8rjch8qk2lpg7nqvw9gff

So it’ll replace the Damus app on ios?

Doubt it, you would lose the native feel. I definitely want notedeck as an ipad app though.

the tech behind notedeck will come to ios, i built nostrdb in C so that it could be used in both notedeck and ios

Fascinating. Thats honestly all I can say 😅

Wdym by “runs locally”?

it’s all on device

So that’s better?

I think it’s what makes it faster, so yeah arguably

it's more like Tweetdeck - if you ever used that.

you can have multiple columns up on one screen and get a good look at the whole network in one glance

Never used twitter, nor tweetdeck so I wouldn’t have a clue 😅 but ehm, seems a bit much? No?

Lol yeah a lot of people find it overwhelming , more for the power users

I believe so 😅 I wouldn’t really use it I believe, IDK

Works on Linux, Windows and macOS. Android in 2025

I think Android & iOS/iPadOS are next year. for now I got it working on my Mac, and I know it works on Linux, not 100% sure about how well it works on Windows

Works on windows :) and yes on those for next year

Need to be a Purple subscriber to gain access?

For the easy way, yes.

but, it's open source on Github here: https://github.com/damus-io/notedeck

but it requires more of a know-how, you can otherwise subscribe to Purple, verify that you do, and I think you just get a .exe/.dmg file for the OSs

Wonderful! Thank you.

np!

For now. They have early access for testing. We will release it to everyone in the next few weeks.

excited for public release! (so I don’t have to have this terminal thing pinned to my Mac dock each time I wanna open it :P )

cool! just wasn't sure since I tried to compile it from Github last night on my Win11 laptop and couldn't get it up, but I'm not the *most* technical, but was def more streamlined on my Mac.
