#TodayInHistory, marked the end of #WW2 in 1945, when Japan accepted the Allied terms of surrender after the U.S. bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Though the Japanese Instrument of Surrender wasn’t officially signed by all parties until 2 September, this was considered by many to be the end of the war.

It’s also worth noting that the end of World War II in Europe occurred earlier on May 8, 1945, when Germany surrendered.
