How do ya suggest a new user find a community? It’s extremely difficult imo & from my own experience here. I have wayyyyy more patience then most, it took 1+ month to even get other users to talk to me on here. New users decide in 1-2 days. *Maybe week tops.. After that.. they will leave. Newbies have no method to find similar users they may want to talk with. Only option I kno of is hashtags, and I didn’t figure that out till being here for weeks. Even the words are terrible choices… “plebs”…? It sounds degrading, it’s origin is unknown, and it’s not helpful. I quit using the word pleb.

And also the word pleb, I agree, it doesn’t feel great to be called a pleb. It feels like shitty college frat hazing, it’s slightly better than neo-Luddite or whatever but not great.

And I know you tagged the OP but based on the general other posts I’ve seen about people reacting to what you’re saying and what I’ve said I’m assuming the response will not be productive to the conversation so it feels like a total “talk until you’re blue in the face” situation to even bother saying this. But I want you to know I agree and I appreciate everything you’re saying about this

At least you can say you tried… if ears aren’t open and the echo chamber is what they love, then it’s all their focus will be directed at and it’s like well what can you do if that’s how it is?

Eh, lingo pops up anywhere in any community. It just happens 🤷‍♂️ Not like there’s a marketing dept deciding these things.
