Mexico is behind in the adoption curve, but the higher adoption areas are Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey, although it seems there is decent growth in Merida, Cancun and San Miguel de Allende. If you're just coming over to visit, you can simply apply the strategy of paying with credit cards and then using btc to pay them back.

To live on a bitcoin standard long term, you could consider getting a residency permit in order to open a bank account and pay for some things like rent using pesos, if you choose to get an apartment (although it's possible to simply pay in cash). For everything else you can get a bitcoin prepaid credit card from KapitalEx or the Crypto debit card offered by Bitso (they deal with shitcoins though). That's if you want the more convenient KYC route of converting BTC to pesos. You can also use Robosats to sell your BTC non-kyc style and get cash out of ATMs using the cardless feature. There are definitely ways and I was thinking of doing a live Q&A for this if anyone was interested.

Ah sounds like it's probably best to go to cash then. (I'd like to avoid creditcards) Is cash still accepted everywhere?
