Wow - I messaged my mum to let her know that Jack Dorsey reposted my post on Nostr and sent me some sats at the same time.

I told her I received over 10,000 sats because of the repost. I also got an unprecedented amount of feedback on how to solve my problem.

I explained to her about the power of decentralised social media, similar to the way I taught her how to use the lightning network using WoS.

She understands what sats and Bitcoin are.

She's Gen X.

She said 'Who is Jack Dorsey'

πŸ€— I said - 'it doesn't matter. That's the beauty of Nostr.'

I agree, who is he?

Just another human trying his best.

Ahah I love this!

I sometimes feel like a fool trying to explain Nostr to my parents...but I still do it.

I agree. Nostr is Bitcoin wrapped in social media is difficult to explain to parents who haven't grown up with social media!

My boomer parents were impressed that a virtual rando Nostrich Bitcoiner from another part of the workd paid for an extortionate parking ticket, one that we had to pay after an emergency trip to the hospital for our their grandson.

I think that was the best orange pill my parents have had so far.

I love that.

A scaled down version of Bitcoiners paying for Julian Assange’s airfare 🧑

We are all Jack Dorsey πŸ˜‚

Few.

It does matter though, because his repost is what made the difference between receiving a small amount of sats for a good note, and receiving five figures.

I see what you did there

fair. My point was that we are equal on nostr and not slaves to an algorithm.

Agreed :)

*i* am jack dorsey. *you* are jack dorsey. we are *all* jack dorsey
