I did a gov’t expose on corruption, discrimination last week. A lot of people who went through similar situations started opening up. The redirection was mostly via Twitter. In retrospect, we have a slightly better govt this year, but if it were the previous dictatorial gov’ts, people who expose corruption get bombed in cars, buried in cement, prisoned without trials and definitely kicked out of Twitter.

I think Twitter is 70% global and 30% US?. There isn’t enough appreciation (pre-Elon, mostly #[2] phase) on how much it helped with freedom of speech globally. It was not perfect, but it was useful. But I get now why we need a platform like Nostr.

Also that little notes Twitter used to send “your govt asked to ban you but we believe in protecting your rights and we will keep you here) - not often but I think back then (pre Elon, mostly #[2] phase) Twitter tried to fight the battle with governments globally and it is too much for one company to do. But you guys did try and thank you for that.
