Depends. Is the single individual compromisable? If not, the group definitely is.

Assume the single individual can be compromised.

Then it's easier for a group to compromise the individual, and easier for an individual to compromise the group.

Sending 1 person to compromise 1 person always runs the risk of accidentally bonding instead
