Software that uses electron as an UI framework, yes
Think it is optimised for some cases. Depends on the conditions.
Can you share some cases? I cannot come up with any other than lower development costs in the short-term.
Might even be lower dev costs in the long term. Specially when having to develop client-side software for multiple platforms, or web-oriented software.
Depends on people and their circumstances. And reality shows given what is available, many choose that.
