I can understand wanting to go the self custodial route.

But do you think they might be better served with a custodial lightning option?

Less friction and lessens the barrier of entry. Then you can pill them some more after they understand the concepts?

Totally agree #[3]​. I know custodial is a bad word around here, and long term wouldn’t recommend to anyone as their primary bitcoin wallet, however onboarding people to bitcoin is most easily done through custodial services. Cash App will do more to onboard people to bitcoin than Zeus or Phoenix ever could. Let them get comfortable with Bitcoin as a concept and then move to the more in depth aspects of Bitcoin. Especially the non technical

I think I’d have an easier time transitioning from “right? isn’t it cool to just send value over the internet seamlessly?” To “now what if you could do that without anyone ultimately controlling your value?”
