They are antisocial in the sense that they push away people who dislike bitcoin since they associate nostr with it.

Maybe nostr could be the "glue"?
Stupid idea: we could make nostr as the social layer where you can share anything and everything.
We have images, videos, sound and text as communication forms. All of the were used already somehow in one social media app.
But maybe it is not about the social media and form of the content. But about bringing people together from eqch social media. So they are not only part of their own echo chamber, but they can freely interact with other on other sites.
Not sure the how, but how stupid is it?
Also this could be an interesting POV, because if apps start to close, and not allow their users to communicate with other app's users, it could send a message. It could seem like they are reducing freedom, and reducing socialization.
I think it is a payment system. From social perspective it serves only as an instrument to discourage bots.
But I also think payment system is critical here. You can use it to pay for many things. But you can also use it to compensate the author for the note, if he expects that. But also, if he expects that, he should state the price.
