i have played with meshtastic radio devices, one each connected to a phone. Can have person at base connected to wifi and the whole squad can text each other in range. Good to have a repeater box set up high.
They work well? I saw those at a bestbuy before.
they okay, i bought mine from an autistic fella on etsy who makes them himself. they require an app to use which was meh. but it works for text really well especially in emergencies.

Was a pos coin, nodes acted as vpns & got paid to supply bandwidth…..
