If bellybutton lint comes from my clothes, then why do none of my shirts have little belly button holes in them?

Because it accumulates from the chest area in general, then through static or some other magic, it follows the path of your hairs ALLLLL the way to your lint pit.
You know that shirt you really like but you haven't seen in a bit? Consumed by the belly button.
