Amethyst doesn't have a central server so relies on Google to push notifications.. Or a third party notification service for non Google builds.

I receive notifications, I just don't understand them.
According to Amethyst, all the people that react to me are called "mike".
You using Google push or third party?
Forget the word push.
The notifications inside the app as the image shows are the issue, nothing to do with push.
I just noticed it for me as well.
Looks like not ideal but "as designed".
Reactions will just show the profile picture of user(s) who did the reaction and then your post is rendered including your name.
Comments will show more info for the user that commented and again your post.
I can’t handle the confusion, I never use Amethyst for notifications 😂
