umbrelOS 1.4 (Public Beta 2) is now out with external storage support for Umbrel Home users, along with bug fixes and performance improvements.
Official umbrelOS 1.4 release rolling out tomorrow.

I believe "Files" will be available across all devices, but external storage support is only for the "Umbrel home"
