While something like #meshtastic is very limited in bandwidth, you could imagine once more people get nodes and they are closer together, you could use higher speed links with less noise tolerance to get much higher speeds and do very interesting things with them.

If I'm doing my math roughly correctly, you should be able to get 25 KB/s through that link at max.
