The sun is the energy source of life. It may not seem beautiful because it is so powerful that looking at it may just blind you. But without it, the earth would be frozen and baren, like the moon.
The moon is a terrible place. With no atmosphere it is subject to the vacuum of space, and with no magnetic field, it's surface is bathed in radiation. It can be reach 250F in sunlight and drop to below -208F in the shade. Moon dust is made of sharp silicate particles that are so abrasive that they can cut through some materials used in space suits.
The moon is beautiful because during darkest of night, when the whole world is between you and the sun, the moon is there to reflect it's brightness and remind you that the sun will indeed come up tomorrow.
