not sure how they did it, but Primal managed to build into their wallet a way to buy sats with phone credit.

i posted a video of that, and the response from local south africans were incredible.

there's no other lightning wallet that does that. as far as i know.

and as far as south africa concerned, and wider africa perhaps, if nostr apps become easy gateways to acquire your first sats, that would be a game changer.

the tricky part is always exchanging fiat for your first sats. there's unavoidable friction with fiat exit points. because fiat is a system of gatekeepers. and it feels like we'll never get rid of that in the fiat world.

we can only circumvent it.

and perhaps, with Nostr, because it's frictionless to connect people, that can become the gateway to making your initial bitcoin acquisition frictionless.

so if I'm onboarding a person to Bitcoin, for the first time, I'm actually onboarding them to Nostr, because that's where they'll likely acquire their first sats.

not sure how this would work, but that's the feeling I'm left with after using primal to make the easiest Bitcoin purchase I've ever made.
