The fact that Bitcoin transaction are transparent and can be used to track usage patterns + it's fungibility ("Clean Bitcoins" tend to be worth more than the typical BTC on the blockchain since they have no history. ) are the main issues why I avoid BTC.

Is there any development to address these issues? AFAIK 2layer of lightening network tries to fix the first issue

Search for "Coinjoin".

You can think that you are cleaning your sats with coinjoin but actually you are getting dirtier sats from addresses involved with ransomware gangs.

Search for "OFAC"

Monero fix that.

I’ll buy your “dirty” bitcoins.

Most likely I own more BTC than you, but that doesn't make me blind to issues the currency has

My comment wasn’t meant to dismiss your point. Only to confirm that fungibility is a function of those of us that use and accept bitcoin. If a government bans a particular “batch” I don’t care. I will still treat them the same. If enough individuals behave the same, the government ban becomes useless. So what you are describing is possible, but only if bitcoin’s user base allows it to become so.

I, for one, will not. Others may do as they see fit.

Plus, the amount of Bitcoin that either one of us owns doesn’t matter to me.

What do you prefer? A fresh mined bitcoin or a bitcoin with thousand transactions history?

They are the same to me.

I do moving to Monero via LocalMonero, but I would love if BTC fans would be more open-minded and wouldn't take issues personally
