My tips for threading posts either in the browser interface or Tusky / IceCubes:

draft your thread in a separate doc (word, etc.). Make sure to prep Alt-text for any images 😃

check out character limits for each thread (depends on your server)

add thread counter at the start and / or end of each post (they won't be added automatically): 1/6 etc.

once ready, create a new message in your app / browser and paste your first post contents in it, add figs + alt-text if relevant

depending on the app you might have a "threaded mode" button, if so click on it, if not, click on send (either one will send the first post)

in threaded mode a new answer box will open

in normal mode, answer to your first post

in both cases, paste the contents of your 2nd post in the answer and just keep going like that until you've sent all the posts.

Additional comments:

people appreciate if your additional posts (not the first) are in "unlisted" mode so they don't invade their timelines.

if you do that, be aware that search doesn't work for unlisted posts so if you have any relevant hashtags you might want to place them in the first post with Public visibility.

as far as I know there is no way to draft threads or even to compose the entire thread before sending it.

as long as you answer to your own previous post all posts will show as a thread and any answers from other people will be shown after.

Enjoy!
