Feels weird to pay more for an optic than the gun it's being mounted upon but you gotta do what you gotta do to ensure the rounds fly true.

It also sucks paying more for a camera lens than the actual camera. Good glass is usually worth it
Check out Arken. Probably best value optic with reasonable tradeoffs. Very Chinese. Very heavy.
I always felt like the optic should be about the same price as the gun. Or in that ballpark
