Can you explain why you use tinfoil.sh? When I look at their website they look like a direct competitor to Maple
Discussion
They provide model hosting on confidential compute, less focused on end user. Maple will have lots of model options to be resilient, all hosted on confidential compute.
I suppose… but when you mentioned it, I checked them out and I’m directed here from their homepage https://chat.tinfoil.sh/
Yeah they haven’t been leaning into the end-consumer product much, publicly they are targeting developers and enterprise.
They both cost the same per month (for the same models), both have the same secure privacy verification system.
I guess I’m wondering how I could decide between the two. Maple lets you pay in BTC. Any other differences?
The future roadmap for each. Maple is focused on providing high value features to make people more productive. That's our primary business now. (Document upload, web search, deep research, image upload, two-way audio, and more)
I can't speak for Tinfoil's plans for their consumer chat, but I know they are focusing heavily on backend servers for developers and enterprise.
My guess is that Maple gets far ahead of their chat for consumers and professional users.
I use the voice chat with bots and adding photos to convos surprisingly often so I look forward to that!
