You make a good point, especially she stays healthy in every way. But I think it’s underestimated what it does to a career to raise children properly. Taking a 10-20 year break means that a woman has to essentially start over. That’s very tough (not impossible) at 40 years old.

I took a 10 years break and reentered at 33. That went surprisingly well. I'm 43 now and doubling down. 🤷‍♀️ I think this is not so unusual.

Restarting at 40 sounds late, until you realize that she's got at least 25 working years ahead of her; maybe even 35.
