The whole tradwife/girlboss dichotomy is based upon the fallacy that

1) women have only 20 productive years, after which they basically drop dead

2) women have to decide, in advance, to spend all of their productive years doing only one thing

You make a good point, especially she stays healthy in every way. But I think it’s underestimated what it does to a career to raise children properly. Taking a 10-20 year break means that a woman has to essentially start over. That’s very tough (not impossible) at 40 years old.

I took a 10 years break and reentered at 33. That went surprisingly well. I'm 43 now and doubling down. 🤷‍♀️ I think this is not so unusual.

Restarting at 40 sounds late, until you realize that she's got at least 25 working years ahead of her; maybe even 35.
