What is the best way or sites to get a 10-yr old into coding a bit, just to have fun and start learning..?

Maybe something like https://scratch.mit.edu. Friend's kids been using it. They don't seem to like vpns though.

I'm not familiar with too many coding things for kids, short of scratch from MIT. Though that's far from bad; it does a REALLY excellent job of introducing basic concepts that will carry into actual coding.

That being said, the most important thing you can do is make sure the projects your kid works on are FUN and REWARDING. Don't start them out on anything important, until it's important to them. For example, my brother made a simple, flash computer game for me when he was 9-12 (I forget exactly). That was his first introduction to working with tech, and now he's working towards his PhD in AI tech.

Best of luck to you and your child!

I have a couple of 10-year-olds and they enjoyed Scratch. https://scratch.mit.edu

Pixelpad is another one we’re going try for learning Python.

Will check both out - been wanting to get my twin nephews, also 10, on board with coding. One is good with his maths and memory, the other extremely artistic and loves experimenting

Right, we just need to open channels for them, send them down fun paths. Then later they will find their own way.

Sounds familiar. 😀

Get hold of a Raspberry Pi and play with their programs on their website

Scratch is good for intro.

I'd also suggest p5.js if they're into arts + it requires just a browser
