@damus tripped the wire when adding "onlyZaps" to posts. Guideline for "optional" 'tipping and donations' was broken.

Remember: Apple is a law firm that also makes hardware and software. They can't give an edge case the benefit of the doubt when they have literally gone to court over in-app currencies.

Also Remember that relying on a single appstore (damus is iOS only) is the antithesis of 'decentralized'.

Alternative open source sysyems like GrapheneOs in addition to progressive web apps are the only way forward for mobile.

"Guidelines" can change at any time.

Yeah for sure. And I have Graphene on a Pixel. It’s great.

But Damus was the an amazing orange-purple pilling normie on-ramp.

Grandma ain’t running Graphene.

You’re at a random party, you start talking nostr, chances are most people have iPhones in their purse/pocket. The most user friendly, twitter-like thing they can download is Damus.

It’s a wonderful on-ramp.

Yeah. The grandma isn't the problem.

The problem is the idiot teens who only opt for iphones and mindlessly scroll tiktok.

They're the reason why open source alternatives can't dominate.

As I always say, try getting your highschool/college colleagues to work on a project over Wire or Matrix instead of Discord or WhatsApp and see how they quickly they ditch your suggestion (speaking from my experience) 😡
