Exactly. Too many shity public nodes with low liquidity and maintenance.
Noobs should just run private nodes, with private small channels to these LSPs. That way will not affect the good routing.
But noobs nowadays don't know that they can just run private nodes (Zeus, Blixt, Electrum, Phoenix, Breez, Mutiny, Nayuta), perfectly for their personal use of LN.
There's no need to run a public node just to be able to pay for a beer, in a self-custodial way.
