Replying to Avatar walker

My 9 month old son looked me straight in the eyes today and said “dad, if the government never plans to pay the $35.4 trillion federal debt and keeps adding more, then the debt means nothing, right? But our entire monetary system is based on debt… so does that mean the fiat monetary system is based on nothing?”

What should I tell him?

Tell him "holy shit you are some super advanced 9 month old able to both articulate that and comprehend how fucked up that dept issue is" :)

Also I am much much older and still have the same question.
